Dress Code
At New Attitudes, our dress code is in place so our student’s come prepared for class ready to participate. Proper dancewear is needed to allow for correct movement as well as the safety of the dancer. See below for the dress code for each dance style. Ballet
- Leotards
- Tights (tan, pink, or white)
- Dance Skirts or Dance Shorts
- Pink ballet slippers (No elastic drawstrings, see shoe guide above)
- Hair must be in a braid or bun, secured away from the face
Jazz/Lyrical /Poms/Musical
Theatre
- Leotards (any style, color)
- Tights
- Dance leggings/Jazz pants/capris
- Dance skirts/shorts
- Tank tops/tight fitting t-shirts
- Tan jazz shoes (see shoe guide below)
- Hair up, secured away from face
- NO Foot Undeez
Tap
- Leotard
- Tights
- Dance leggings/Jazz pants/capris
- T-shirts/tank tops
- Dance shorts
- Hair up, secured away from face
- Black tap shoes (buckle, slip-on boot style or velcro preferred, see the shoe guide above)
Hip Hop
- Loose fitting tank tops/shirts
- Sweatpants/leggings to allow for full range of movement
- Athletic wear
- No baggy sweatshirts
- Clean gym-style sneakers (must not be worn outside, for indoor use only)
Acrobatics
- Leotard with tights or Biketard
- Bare legs or tights without feet for saftey purposes
- Dancers in this class do not need shoes as they perform and practice barefooted
- No skirts
Petite Pirouettes & Discover Dance
- Leotards (any color/style)
- Tights (any color)
- Dance skirts/shorts/tutus
- Leggings
- Any Dance wear available at retailers
- Pink leather ballet slippers (leather slippers only, canvas shoes can be a slipping hazzard - NO laces)
- Hair up, secured away from face
The Following are NOT Permitted in any class
- Jeans
- Flannel pants
- Sweaters/vests/sweatshirts
- Skirts without leotard/tights/shorts
- Clothing displaying profanity or harsh language
- Heavy jewelry/earrings
