Dress Code

 

At New Attitudes, our dress code is in place so our student’s come prepared for class ready to participate. Proper dancewear is needed to allow for correct movement as well as the safety of the dancer. See below for the dress code for each dance style. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!

       Ballet

  • Leotards (solid colors only for Ballet 3/4 and above) 
  • Tights (tan, pink, or white)
  • Dance Skirts
  • Dance Shorts
  • Pink ballet slippers (Ballet 1, NO elastic ties) 
  • Hair must be in a braid or bun, secured away from the face

     Jazz/Lyrical & Contemporary/Poms

    • Leotards (any style, color)
    • Tights
    • Dance leggings/Jazz pants/capris
    • Dance skirts/shorts
    • Tank tops/tight fitting t-shirts
    • Black or tan jazz shoes (boot styles only, see your teacher for color)
    • Hair up, secured away from face
    • NO Foot Undeez or Paws

     Tap

  • Loetard
  • Tights
  • Dance leggings/Jazz pants/capris
  • T-shirts/tank tops
  • Dance shorts
  • Hair up, secured away from face
  • Black or tan tap shoes (buckle, lace-up, or slip-on boot styles, see your teacher for color and style needed)

     Petite Pirouettes

  • Leotards (any color/style)
  • Tights (any color)
  • Dance skirts/shorts/tutus
  • Legwarmers
  • Leggings
  • Dance wear available at retailers
  • Black patent leather tap shoes
  • Pink leather ballet slippers (leather slippers only, canvas shoes can be a slipping hazzard - NO laces) 
  • Hair up, secured away from face

    The Following are NOT Permitted

  • Jeans
  • Sweats/Flannel pants
  • Sweaters/vests/sweatshirts
  • Baggy, loose fitting clothing
  • Clothing displaying profanity or harsh language
  • Heavy jewelry/earrings
